Hog Island Oyster Company was started by two marine biologists who started out by planting with a five-acre shellfish lease in the gorgeous Tomales Bay, CA. Today, they have 160 acres and strive to produce delicious oysters using sustainable farming practices and working in coordination with natures rythms. Hog Island is also very involved in shining a light on ocean health, they are a founding member of the Shellfish Growers Climate Coalition which is dedicated to getting climate change policies enacted through storytelling.
